why visual radio???

The good ol’ FM radio with some interactivity & visuals, sounded a whole lottt interestin!!! [ huh…may b some more entertainment inside the zombi environment of our classroom 🙂 ]

But more honestly & seriously…

• Music is one thing that I can reallly enjoy (sounds cliched, I know… but still !!)

• Even though it sounds interestin, I believe the promotion & publicity needed to b way too stronger (or…dunno if I was unaware !?!)

• This topic wud gimme an opportunity to play around with new media to make it more appealin n interesting to MYSELF first

• The web-design done 4 this one also goes into my ANIMASTER project which is been pending since quite a few months…. (my instructor wud definitely b happy listening to this one!)

Visual Radio is a redefining FM radio experience made for mobile. For the first time, images and texts are synchronized with radio broadcasts to bring information and interactivity directly to mobile devices. Visual Radio offers greater access to factual content, participation in audience polls and the facility to make instant purchases.

Visual Radio works by allowing broadcasters to create and publish interactive visual content to complement their existing FM broadcasts. Consumers with a Visual Radio enabled mobile device can listen to their favorite radio stations via the FM receiver in the device, and in addition use the interactive visual channel delivered over the GPRS mobile network.The Station Directory Service allows easy finding and saving of FM radio stations, and is a simple way to acquire the necessary settings for tuning in to both FM frequencies as well as the interactive visual channels of those radio stations.

After all the excitement, confusion n alllllll tht frenzy about “CHOOSING” a topic for the Final Year Project… the end result goes on to b…. VISUAL RADIO. Lemme not forget to mention that George’s “Picking-A-Project” made my job a whole lot easier…. Thnx for tht!!

The whole scenario: Visual Radio (VR) being introduced in Bangalore in association with Radio Mirchi which has already launched it in Delhi, Mumbai & Kolkata….

Within a short while you guyz will get to see the progress… Lets see how this goes !?!
